Hungry art lovers who’d rather eat than wait in line at Danny Meyer’s The Modern
can head across the street to the charming Il Gattopardo.
Here, the unfussy décor, white-brick walls, and blonde wood echo its arty MoMA neighbor.
And though it’s open since September 2001, the restaurant is sure to win over new fans
with it’s traditional Neapolitan menu, including an outstanding clam linguini, freshly made ravioli,
and regional meatloaf served with chive mashed potatoes.
For a light lunch, try the tomato and cucumber salad with aged ricotta,
or chicken salad with apples and string beans.
And those who have a hankering for some bracciola with their Braque should sample
Il Gattopardo’s version with veal, eggplant, and caciocavallo cheese.
